Provides security, crowd control, and public information to casino patrons, while enforcing casino rules and regulations, and deterring improper activity.
• Detects and prevents violations of casino rules.
• Stays abreast of casino rules and regulations.
• Protects casino property, building, grounds, and equipment from theft, vandalism or damage from any source.
• Protects guests and Team Members from theft and injury.
• Protects property from theft, loss, or damage while the guest or Team Member is on casino property or grounds.
• Provides escort services for guests and their property as requested or assigned.
• Escorts casino assets and Team Members as assigned.
• Patrols the designated parking areas of Chumash properties to establish a highly visible security presence.
• Creates a visible presence to all that enter into the parking structures, or onto parking lots.
• Enforces specified rules and regulations of the gaming operation in and around the casino premises.
• Inspects packages or containers that could be used to transport alcohol, drugs or other contraband.
• Inspects proper identification to establish proof of legal age.
• Assists the public by informing them of casino rules and regulations or directing them to others for assistance.
• Assists in the ejection, detection, and arrest of guests (or Team Members) as directed.
• Identifies conditions which may result in injury or danger to or Team Member health and safety, or which might result in damage to, or theft from the gaming enterprise, its guests and Team Members and law and reports these conditions according to existing procedure.
• Notifies appropriate supervisors or Security Officers of violations of law or casino policy. Takes such steps to prevent or deter potential violations.
• Informs or apprehends violator(s) as may be necessary depending on the severity and nature of the particular incident or violation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
• Exceptional detail and follow-up skills.
• Multi-task oriented.
• Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
• Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• Must have or obtain within six months of employment a valid security guard registration on file with the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services and maintain license throughout employment.
• Must have or obtain within 90 days of employment CPR certification, and maintain certification throughout employment.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
• Native American hiring preference applies.
