Overview

The Guest Service Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the operational activities of the hotel within hotel guidelines to provide guests with exceptional guest service. Promotes the maximum use of hotel facilities and coordinates the activities of various meetings, groups, concerts, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily supervision and training to Guest Service Agents to ensure the best possible guest experience.
  • In the absence of the Hotel Shift Manager, assists with and coordinates the day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and bell and concierge services.
  • Resolves guest problems, complaints, concerns, needs, and issues daily, while maintaining smooth operation of the hotel.
  • Directs all front desk functions, focusing on the daily arrival and departure processes.
  • Oversees room reservations and ensures that requests for special services are completed.
  • Anticipates low occupancy periods and coordinates blocking of rooms with Guest Service Agents to optimize labor costs and schedule deep cleaning and maintenance of rooms.
  • Monitors and ensures all cashiering procedures comply with accounting policies and standards, including contracted banks, shortages/overages, paid outs, adjustments, posting charges payment methods/processing, closing and cashier reports, balancing receipts, dropping receipts, and securing banks.
  • Manages room assignments and blocking to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Provides relief work for Team Member breaks and mealtimes.
  • Develops and executes daily pre-shifts and training topics.
  • Prepares daily VIP reports.
  • Monitors rack rate and third-party rates and makes recommendations to maximize occupancy.
  • Oversees preparation of weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts; ensures schedules are adjusted throughout the week to meet business demands.
  • Coordinates concert bookings and the organization of room assignments and special amenities.
  • Reports and tracks all guest billings, special guest requests, meeting room use, and special events, and works with the Hotel Shift Manager to coordinate all events held at the hotel.
  • Works with Executive Hosts to block room assignments for players.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Three years of prior guest service experience.
  • Two years of prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in and general knowledge of a luxury hotel environment preferred.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and Internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
