Overview

Performs a lead role in the daily collection, review, analysis, investigation, troubleshooting, and remedy of various revenue and payout data reports and documentation from various departments. Ensures audit team completes all daily audits in accordance with System of Internal Control Standards (SICS) and internal policies, in order for daily revenue figures to be released to the appropriate departments and individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Revenue Audit Supervisor in assigning and distributing audit task schedules to individual audit Team Members to ensure fair and appropriate distribution of audit assignments.
  • Assists Revenue Audit Supervisor in the maintenance and updating of various audit handbooks/reference guides.
  • Collaborates with audit team to ensure completion of daily audit tasks in order for daily revenue figures to be released to management; assists Auditors with audits as needed.
  • Coordinates and completes ad hoc audits on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as needed.
  • Performs and assists in the completion of approximately twenty daily audits following established SICS guidelines and procedures, which involve the collection and review of reports and supporting documentation from the various Chumash Enterprises departments.
  • Reviews audit box for audit completion and to identify unresolved drop variances within five days.
  • Coordinates resources and maintains current status of all slot machines on gaming floor within slot management system, as it relates to movement, conversions, and retirements.
  • Responsible for daily readings and recordkeeping of slot progressive liabilities; enters information in applicable spreadsheets; maintains master slot progressive jackpot listing and source sheets for Floor Operations and Revenue Audit Departments.
  • Audits daily slot revenue, including currency counts, slot payouts, and jackpot progressives; reconciles slot data to automated system data; analyzes and resolves discrepancies, and prepares reports.
  • Reviews and reconciles various Cage/Vault transactions, including guest dispute payouts, poker jackpot payouts, bank deposits, etc.; utilizes various system reports for audits and resolves discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensures applicable gaming winnings have a completed tax form.
  • Audits Table Games and Poker revenue, including reconciliation of fills and credits to automated system data, and updates the poker player pool; resolves discrepancies as needed.
  • Audits Bingo revenue, utilizing physical documentation, spreadsheets, and information from Bingo system; resolves discrepancies and prepares reports as needed.
  • Audits kiosk machine transactions by reconciling kiosk activity to physical on-hand counts to determine daily variances.
  • Audits non-gaming departments/functions for comps and credit card transactions and resolves discrepancies.
  • Audits comp issuance (e.g., food, gift certificates, banquet events) for both guests and employees to ensure transactions are in accordance with SICS and internal policies.
  • Audits key control access to sensitive and classified locations for select positions to protect assets and ensure compliance; reports discrepancies and ensures resolution.
  • Recommends improvements to various audited transactions that would lower risk and increase operational efficiency.
  • Produces prompt, concise, and accurate reports of all discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies to Revenue Audit Supervisor with recommendations for resolution; utilizes historical data for comparison, as needed.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with departments throughout the organization in order to review and resolve audit discrepancies.
  • Assists in the training of new audit Team Members.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an auditing role. 
  • Experience in and knowledge of various casino and revenue audit operations.
  • Knowledge of governing and regulating bodies, standards, and procedures as it relates to audit operations.
  • Strong clerical skills, including proficiency in 10-key.
  • Proficient with computers, including various casino systems, Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Email, and Internet. 
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
