Overview

Provides exceptional guest service by offering beverages, taking beverage orders, processing payment transactions, and delivering drinks to guests in a timely manner. Interacts with guests, anticipates guests’ needs, and responds to general guest inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Circulates designated beverage service section, greets guests, announces presence, and offers complimentary beverages and beverages for sale to resort guests.
• Delivers exceptional guest service (i.e., prompt, friendly, professional, and responsive), using proper greeting and departure phrases and service standards established by F&B management.
• Obtains guests’ beverage orders and serves them accordingly.
• Provides guests with drink options, while up-selling extended beverage menu offerings.
• Communicates with beverage management to provide appropriate levels of service to top-tiered Club Chumash players (e.g., Black and Platinum).
• Carries service trays with drink orders throughout casino area.
• Enters beverage orders into point-of-sale system to ensure accurate preparation and tracking of product and inventory.
• Uses POS system to redeem Loyalty points for guests.
• Generates beverage checks and processes payments as applicable.
• Assists with bussing cocktail tables and other beverage areas, as necessary.
• Maintains T.I.P.P.S. parameters on service of alcoholic beverages, identifying guests showing signs of intoxication; informs supervisor or manager on duty with any concerns.
• Completes all opening, running, and closing duties. 
• Is knowledgeable of the specialty cocktails, liquor brands, beer and wine available at the casino bar.
• Addresses guests’ concerns and resolves issues as appropriate and according to policy/procedures; involves management as needed.
• Provides information on resort amenities, events, promotions, etc. in order to increase levels of guest service.
• Maintains knowledge of casino floor layout, beverage service sections and boundaries, and resort amenities.
• Complies with tip reporting and handling procedures. 
• Assists other department Team Members as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred. 
• Previous guest service experience.
• Previous beverage serving experience, including alcohol is preferred. 
• Must be able to complete all aspects of the in house service training program and become certified in order to provide alcohol beverage service on scheduled shift.
• Knowledge of alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink offerings and how to serve them.
• Must be able to stand and walk while carrying beverage tray.
• Ability to organize multiple orders, and recall order details, guest location and guest payment. 
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
• Exceptional detail and follow-up skills.
• Ability to process payments via a point-of-sale system.
• Basic English reading and writing skills; proficient English conversation skills.
• Must be able to read labels, ingredients, and instructions, and write basic lists, notes and directions; able to converse effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills.
• Able to maintain composure at times of high volume.
• Must be able to work effectively within a team. 
• Willingness to work flexible schedules and hours, including evenings, weekends, special events, and holidays.
• Must follow safety guidelines and grooming standards.
• Must maintain uniforms, using proper washing and ironing techniques, if applicable.
• Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
• Must be certified or be able to obtain certification in an approved alcoholic awareness program within 90 days of employment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
• Native American hiring preference applies.
