Responsible for collection, sorting, processing, and preparation of recyclable materials in compliance with Chumash Casino Resort’s safety guidelines, waste management procedures, and zero waste program.
Responsibilities
Completes assigned tasks in a timely and precise manner following recycling team procedure log.
Removes and opens bags from incoming waste stream. Sorts plastic, glass, Styrofoam, cardboard, and other recyclables per established procedure.
Disposes of unwanted and hazardous waste per company procedure.
Collects bottles for recycling from designated areas.
Delivers recyclable material to designated bins or collection area.
Sets out collection containers and sorting tables at beginning of shift. Puts away containers and sorting tables at end of shift.
Responsible for box baler cleanliness.
Sweeps and preps area for pressure washing, including sweeping recycle area, surrounding area, and underneath bins.
Pressure washes recycle area and around bins.
In the course of a regular shift; works, cleans and maintains the areas of responsibility as often as necessary to keep them safe, sanitary and in neat appearance.
Minimizes the use of water during the recycling process.
Responsible for keeping debris out of the creek.
Makes recommendations for process and productivity improvements.
Notifies a supervisor when any unsafe, unsanitary, or defective condition is detected.
Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
Must be capable of operating cleaning machines and equipment.
Must be able to read and write legibly in the English language.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks within time allotted.
Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
