Overview

The Beverage Supervisor assists in the management of the resort’s day-to-day beverage operations to include all floor service bars, outlet bars, and floor beverage stations. Ensures compliance with all resort, departmental, and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures. Monitors and supervises all beverage areas and Team Members during shift

Responsibilities

• Ensures all liquor laws are adhered to and enforced by staff at all times.
• Responsible for all administrative duties and day-to-day operations in the absence of Beverage Manager.
• Delivers exceptional guest service (i.e., prompt, friendly, professional, and responsive), using proper greeting and departure phrases and service standards established by F&B management.
• Works with beverage management in producing a work schedule for all beverage staff to include Beverage Supervisors to ensure maximum productivity.
• Meets weekly with beverage management to develop weekly and monthly forecasts of revenues and costs.
• Assists with maintaining monthly inventory and control of all equipment required to operate the department.
• Assists with reviewing controls to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
• Performs daily walk through of all beverage service bars and floor outlets and makes notations of any deficiencies.
• Works with other departments to ensure proper execution of liquor service policies.
• Monitors beverage activities throughout the casino to ensure compliance with all liquor laws.
• Supervises staff and assists with disciplinary actions and other HR-related actions.
• Assists with selection, development, training, and coaching of beverage staff.
• Ensures beverage staff is in compliance with grooming and uniform policies. 
• Ensures a safe working environment for Team Members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certification.
• Two years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred. 
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, rules, procedures, and administration relating to beverage operations.
• Excellent guest service skills; ability to upsell.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
• Ability to effectively lead and work within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• English language proficiency, including reading, writing, and conversation skills.
• Must be able to read manuals, event orders, preparation lists, memos, and other written communications; able to write instructions, performance evaluations, etc.; able to lead Team Member meetings, provide summaries to management, and converse effectively with guests.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Proficient in computers, including Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, internet, and point-of-sale systems (Infogenesis experience is preferred).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Team Members and guests 
• Able to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail; ability to multi-task and manage time. 
• Able to maintain composure at times of high volume.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules and hours, including evenings, weekends, special events and holidays. 
• Ability to uphold department and company standards of etiquette and guest service while in the presence of guests and other Team Members.
• Must follow safety guidelines and grooming standards.
• Must maintain uniforms, using proper washing and ironing techniques, if applicable.
• Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain mandatory alcohol sales and handling training within 30 days of employment and must be retrained every two years.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to sell or serve distilled spirits. Team Members under 21 but at least 18 years of age may sell or serve beer and wine in non-gaming areas.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
• Native American hiring preference applies.
