Overview

Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Plumbing Supervisor supervises and works alongside the Facilities Technicians who work primarily on performing preventative and general maintenance on the Plumbing systems at the Casino and other Chumash Properties.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees assembling, installing, servicing and maintenance of pipes, fittings, fixtures and drainage systems and other plumbing needs for the Casino and other Chumash properties.
  • Utilizes the work order system to assign and complete projects.
  • Confers with the HVAC Facilities Manager regarding workloads and priorities.
  • Responsible for keeping records of repairs completed and may prepare reports as needed.
  • Prepares estimates of work hours, materials, and resources required for projects.
  • Requisitions materials and supplies.
  • Provides safety training on equipment, and ensures power tools are in safe, operable condition.
  • Schedules, assigns, and inspects work of others.
  • Recommends and implements personnel actions.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of prior experience as a journeyman plumber with commercial experience.
  • Three years of prior experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field.
  • Two years of prior experience in a supervisory role.
  • Must participate and complete requiredongoing departmental training. 
  • Must hold a valid California driver's license and meet the insurance requirements of Chumash Enterprises. 
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
