Overview

The Bell Captain is responsible for training Bell Attendants to Gold Standard Service and greeting and assisting with guest luggage. The Bell Captain oversees cleanliness of all areas of the hotel lobby while monitoring the Bell Attendants.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes guests to hotel with a warm and sincere greeting. Addresses guests by name upon meeting and departing.
  • Hosts guests in lobby while waiting to check in.
  • Handles and carries guest luggage.
  • Offers to fill guest ice bucket.
  • Checks in laundry from cleaners and delivers guest laundry.
  • Opens doors for guests, clients, and Team Members.
  • Escorts guests to rooms and gives thorough instructions on all features and functions of guest room including all Corque Hotel amenities.
  • Coordinates scheduling for Bell Attendants.
  • Assists with guest complaints when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Oversees set up and break down of all meeting room events.
  • Responds to and answers in-house guest calls for bell service.
  • Delivers gift baskets, flowers, and all special deliveries to guest rooms.
  • Runs errands for guests and hotel office Team Members.
  • Cleans and polishes luggage cart and front entry doors.
  • Keeps the front circle and bell stand clean and organized at all times.
  • Gives directions and relays information to guests.
  • Maintains baggage hold room and claim tickets.
  • Provides information about Corque Hotel and the local area.
  • Orders supplies such as baggage tags and meeting room needs to ensure smooth operation.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Two years of prior experience in a hotel environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
