This role of the Registered Dental Assistant is to increase the efficiency of the Dentist in the delivery of quality oral healthcare by performing a variety of office, laboratory, and patient care duties.
Responsibilities
Assists the dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
Helps maintain supply inventory.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Assists with patient education in post-operative and post-surgical care and oral hygiene.
Processes dental digital x-rays as requested by dentist (e.g., periapical, occlusal, bitewings, sinus, and panographic images).
Assists with sterilizing all dental instruments, cleans and sets up trays.
Reviews patient charts, charting in electronic dental records system, and assists with clinical notes.
Enters patient referrals as needed.
Performs additional patient procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist, including, but not limited to, child prophies, sealants, and topical fluoride and varnish.
Checks daily schedule to ensure necessary materials are available for patient treatments.
Pours study models and creates temporary crowns.
Participates in the overall cleaning and maintenance of the dental department (e.g., operatories, labs, offices).
Cleans traps and lines regularly.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Licensed by the Dental Board of California as a Registered Dental Assistant.
Current CPR(BLS) certification
Two years of experience in a dental office, preferred.
Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and Internet.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), NextGen a plus.
Native American hiring preference applies.
